Officially Missionaries

It seems crazy when we talk about it and even when we hear ourselves say it, but we are "missionaries." Todd put it best when he said, "I never thought I'd be a missionary. I always thought missionaries dressed funny and acted strange." All kidding aside, it's simply that growing up we both placed missionaries on a different level. They were not "normal" people. I mean who in their right mind drops everything and goes to distant lands in order to spread the message of God's love? Yet here we are anxiously counting the days until we get to do the same thing. We are both so honored and amazed God has placed this calling in our lives.

Today, we looked on CTEN's (Commission to Every Nation) website and there we were listed as missionaries. It takes my breath away when I think of how God has prepared us for this precise mission. The CTEN logo on the right is a direct link to our missionary webpage, if you want to take a look. Other than that things are moving right along. We are preparing things in order to fundraise for support and starting to tackle the moving process. Both of us are also excited because in a couple of weeks we will be attending our Orientation/Training with CTEN in Kerrville, Texas. And attending that is just another step to our living and serving full-time in Romania.

Green Light Says Go

As most of you know Todd and I have had a heart for Romania since our first trip there.  As we worked with the abandoned children of Romania over the years, we always felt as if we left our hearts there when we returned home from each trip.  It's pretty amazing to think that since 2005, we have made six trips there.  Each time we returned, we felt like our new home was actually in Marghita, Romania not in Los Angeles.  However, we knew it was not time to go yet.  School was not finished, rings were not on fingers, etc.  Yet we both knew that God had given us a great burden for those people in that specific part of the world.
During the last few month we have both felt a strong conviction that God was calling us to serve full-time in Romania.  After much prayer and guidance we realized that through these past few years God had been preparing us to go serve there full-time and now is the perfect time.  We have been accepted as missionaries to CTEN (Commission to Every Nation) and hope to begin ministering to the abandoned children with FCE (the foundation we have worked with in Romania all these years) by late August.
Please pray for us as we embark on this journey.  We are both really excited...and a little overwhelmed at times.  We can't wait to be in Romania yet the ideas of raising support and fitting our lives into four suitcases can be daunting.  Check our blog often as we hope to keep you posted in all that goes on with us as we start serving the Lord in Romania.
